Makayla & Luis
BY JENNIFER STANLEY
Makayla and Luis Fregoso, both lifelong Conway residents, married on Friday, January 7, 2022. The Venue at Stonebrook Meadows, Bauxite served as both the wedding and reception venue.

When asked about the proposal, Makayla shares, “Our proposal day was one of the most special days of our sevenyear story thus far. It was detailed and full of love, laughter, and tears. Luis spent over eight months perfectly planning this day, and I, without knowing, picked out the sweetest spot two miles outside of Breckenridge, Colorado. The proposal happened at the top of Sapphire Point Overlook and featured breathtaking mountain views and Dillon Reservoir. I could not have imagined a more picture perfect proposal.”

When wedding planning commenced, the couple enlisted Alex Hurst as the day-of coordinator to assist with the details. “People always told me planning a wedding would make me wish I had eloped, and the goal for our wedding was the opposite. I wanted to plan a wedding that was inviting,
serene, and highlighted the love Luis and I have for each other. With Luis coming from a Hispanic background, it was a goal of ours to plan a wedding that was inclusive of people with all backgrounds. The majority of our vendors were bilingual in both English and Spanish, and our ceremony was translated to provide each person the opportunity to enjoy our day equally,” says Makayla.
Makayla found her dress at Low’s Bridal in Brinkley. “I had such a good experience, and I received exceptional service,” she says. Her dress featured detailed sleeves that provided a modern, bohemian look. “Luis wanted sleek, fitted, black suits for himself and each groomsman, and our suit vendors helped us accomplish the vision he was going for perfectly,” she adds. The groomsmen rented their suits from JR’s Hobby Horse in Conway. Luis, however, purchased his from In Style in Little Rock. “Purchasing his suit was something that was special to both of us; we will forever have a piece of our wedding day hanging in the closet.”
Vase and Vine in Clarksville provided the wedding florals, which exceeded the couple’s expectations. “They made my Pinterest board come to life! My vision consisted of a modern, boho style, and the mix of pampas grass, neutral florals, and greenery gave me the look I’d always dreamed of. Vase and Vine and their team went above and beyond and were so easy to work with and we highly recommend,” says Makayla.
The wedding party included bridesmaids Kendyl Lopez, matron of honor; Julianne Jones, maid of honor; Brianna and Michelle Murillo; Mekayla Stricklin; Bethany Spann; Ema Rhea; Natalie Wells; Victoria Fountain, and Thalia Fregoso, junior bridesmaid. Groomsmen included best man Derek Delph, Eugenio Lopez, Jorge Maldonado, Dalton Henson, Chris Mendoza, Sami Arellano, Donnovan King, and Pablo Hurtado.

Makayla and Luis loved how each moment of their day was thoughtful and beautiful. “Some of my favorite moments were first looks, first dances, and running back down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Fregoso for the first time,” says Makayla, adding, “With the assistance of our wonderful vendors and our family and friends, the day went smoothly; there is not a single moment I would change!” fl
